- Before maximum tillering, remove the off-types by uprooting the entire hill.
- From maximum tillering onwards, cut the entire hill at ground level to prevent root damage to the adjoining plants.
- Once the mixtures or off-types have been identified, remove them immediately.
- If the off-types are identified and cut at maturity stage, collect and pile them away from the seed production field.
