hello good day, paano po yung fertilizer application ng US 88?

Good day po! Tanong ko lang po kung ano ang required amount of evapotranspiration (in mm) per day ng rice plant for vegetative, reproductive, and maturity stage. Thank you

Hello Lady. so far we don’t have in situ study on evapotraspiration for rice here in PhilRice. Our researcher recommend to use the FAO Penman-Monteith (http://www.fao.org/docrep/X0490E/x0490e08.htm) in determining ET wherein this is most method use worldwide. This method more reliable since it uses weather data and more variable that are factors affecting ET in specific area. You can also consider except in a study (Estimation of rice evapotranspiration using a microlysimeter technique and comparison with FAO Penman-Monteith and Pan evaporation methods under Moroccan conditions) ” In the Philippines, 7 mm per day was an average requirement during the submerged period.… Read more »

Hello Darlene,Dinorado variety is general term for traditional upland rice. So far we didn’t produce these varieties for upland areas. We suggest to ask assistance from your local DA office where are the areas in North Cotabato that has seed producers of Dinorado seeds.Thank you.

Hi! We are currently plotting a rice varieties in the map of the Camarines Norte depending on the characteristic of the rice such as rain, temperature. I’ve been looking for the varieties in your website but I cannot find the requirement for growing the said varieties. May we request if you have any data per variety in order for us to plot in the map as requirement of our final project in TC25 at UP Diliman, QC. Thank you

Hello Jhunax, currently our new rice varieties are categorized or recommended based on the ecosystem such as Irrigated lowland, Rainfed, Upland, Cool elevated, Saline prone, Submergence and drought prone. In relation to temperature most of our new variety is not affected by temperature. We suggest to ask our rice breeders that may help you in your project. you can reach them at (044) 456 0277 local 280 or 275.
