Hello sir Gerard, actually the Nerica rice is short for new rice for Africa, they are bred for the condition of Africa which is semi arid tropics, unlike the condition here in Philippines that are humid and wet. Although here at PhilRice we are producing varieties that survived in different ecosystems like in drought, saline, flood-prone, cool elevated, upland, and of also for more favorable areas like irrigated and rainfed rice areas.
Hello sir Lando, ang Ang mga green super rice or GSR ay hndi pa po approved variety , wala pa kaming data sa mga ito dahil under field trials pa lang sila.actually kapag pumasa na po sa NSIC ay magiging NSIC variety din po ang mga ito.

Kung sabog tanim; karaniwang ani ay nasa 5.5 t/ha hanggang 8.0 t/ha. 105 araw ang paggulang. Mahina sa rice blast, sheath blight at tungro. Medyo matibay sa stemborer at BPH. May 71.1% porsyento ng bigas. Mahaba ang butil. Medyo malambot pag naluto.
